What it is
Decompression uses a table that applies slow, cyclical traction along the spine. The intent is to reduce pressure within the disc and create room where a nerve is being compressed.
This is a targeted intervention rather than a general wellness service. It is recommended when the consultation points to a disc or nerve root problem, and it runs as a course of sessions rather than a one-off.
The Session
What the session is like.
-
Positioned and harnessed
You stay clothed. A harness distributes the traction load comfortably.
-
Cycles of pull and release
Slow and gradual, never sudden. You hold a stop control the whole time.
-
A course, not a session
Decompression works cumulatively. Your plan will set out how many visits and over what period.
