What it is
Dry needling uses a very fine needle placed into a taut band of muscle. The aim is a local twitch response, which is the muscle letting go, and the relief that follows is often disproportionate to how small the intervention feels.
It is worth saying clearly: this is not acupuncture. Same tool, different reasoning. Dry needling targets specific musculoskeletal structures based on where your pain is coming from.

Consent and explanation

-
Treatment
Needles are in place briefly. A deep ache or a twitch is normal and usually a good sign.
-
Afterwards
Some soreness for a day is common. Heat helps, and the sauna is right there.
